1934-1934A $5 Silver Certs
Macro/Micro Mules
A "Mule" is created when a note is printed with an older micro-sized plate serial number on one side and a macro-sized plate serial number on the other. 1934 series Silver Certificate Mules are created when a 1934 face plate (micro-size) was mated to a sheet printed with a newer macro-size BP. And the opposite is true for 1934A Silver Certificate series Mules, in which a 1934A face plate (macro-size) was mated to a sheet printed with an older micro-sized BP.
1934 $5 SC E-A Block Mule; Micro FP #557, Macro BP #958
1934A $5 SC E-A Block Mule; Macro FP #660, Micro BP #930
The 1934 series Silver Certificate Mules were only serial numbered in the E-A block and are tougher notes. In fact, all 1934 series E-A block notes are tough, including both Mules (macro BP) and non-Mules (micro BP) alike. The 1934 series E-A block Mules and non-Mules are now covered in a separate census.

A majority of 1934A Series $5 Silver Certificate Mules available are common, but there are some Mules from this series that range from less common to exceedingly rare. 1934A series Mules can be found in all serial numbered blocks (D-A to L-A), except the I-A and J-A blocks. Mules from the D-A, E-A, F-A, G-A, H-A and *-A blocks are marco/micro Mules and covered in this census, while the K-A and L-A blocks are Late-Finished BP #637 Mules (covered in a separate census).
All known 1934A series notes from the D-A block are Mules and Mules from the D-A, E-A, and F-A blocks are all considered common. Mules from the G-A block are underrated and more scarce, while Mules from the H-A block are very rare. Mules from the *-A block are less common than the D-A through F-A blocks, but fairly available, with the exception is a unique *-A block Mule with fabled LFBP #637. Thus, only G-A and H-A block macro/micro Mules are covered in the census project.
